The White Lily Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that will fund an Angel of Hope Statue and memorial garden through charitable donations. The statue and garden will be placed in Teutopolis along Route 40 across from St. Francis of Assisi Church in the grass lot of society hall. This statue will be a place where parents, families, and friends affected by pregnancy, infant, and child loss can find hope. We feel this space will be healing for many families in our community and in surrounding communities. We will hold a lighting ceremony every December 6th at 7pm to honor the pregnancies, infants, and children lost and provide comfort to the families through prayer and remembrance, in accordance with the book, The Christmas Box. As the book describes, we will encourage families to bring a white lily or another white flower to lay at the foot of the statue in remembrance of their loved ones. Grieving parents will be able to represent their child’s name on plaques surrounding the statue. This area will also allow for loved ones to have a space year-round to grieve, honor, and celebrate their child.

have been constructed throughout the country. In our area, the closest statues are in Belleville, Springfield, Decatur, Breese, and Olney.
